Overview

In Earth's future, Amber Saint embodies glamour, elegance, and sex appeal.  She’s a household name beloved around the globe.  But when her true nature as a product of Thane Enterprises is exposed, the world's admiration turns to controversy and fear.

Now facing dubious notoriety, she struggles to find her own soul.  Does she even have one?  Should she exist?  Does she have a purpose?  Surely, her creator, Kael Thane, must know, but he refuses to tell her.  Is he protecting her from some dark and horrible truth?  Perhaps the mysterious assassins pursuing her have the answers...

Written by Searnold from a story by Daren Strange and Lewis Walker, and illustrated by Josh Howard, creator of Dead @ 17, Amber Saint tells the story of a woman searching for herself in a world where the human soul hangs on the line and an ever-looming darkness approaches from the shadows.

Amber Hale, Supermodel
becomes Amber Saint, gets a new writer, and is no longer a webcomic!  Say what?!

FEBRUARY 10, 2010

Amber's been on hiatus since winning 3rd place in Zuda's May 2009 contest, and a lot of things have changed since then.  But she's getting ready to take the world by storm before the year is over!

To start things out on the right foot, we've hired Searnold as the writer for the series.  His style gives the story exactly what it needs by infusing drama with quick humor--very much in the same vein as Joss Whedon (a big compliment in our book!).

We're also discontinuing the series as a webcomic, and instead going to traditional print!   We'll have details on how to get your copy soon!

So, why the new name?  There are quite a few reasons, really, but we'll cover the majors.  First, and foremost, we were never happy with the surname "Hale".  Amber's original last name was not allowed by Zuda, so we were asked to come up with a new one in less than 24 hours to make the contest deadline.  Obviously, we felt very rushed.  Now that we've been able to dedicate more time to such a major change, we're much happier with "Amber Saint".  The new name feeds into certain plot points and, as the story develops, readers will get to find out how.

We also wanted to separate the "Amber Hale, Supermodel" webcomic from our upcoming printed version as we truly feel it's a vast improvement on what's posted at Zuda.  And we've got some other reasons... but we'll keep those close to the chest for now.  We don't want to give everything away, now do we?
